abstract

background: sulfatase 1 ( sulf1 ) function is to remove the 6-o-sulphate group from heparan sulfate. this action changes the binding sites of extracellular growth factors. sulf1 expression has been reported to be changed in angiogenesis. we hypothesized that single nucleotide polymorphisms (snps) of sulf1 would impact clinicopathologic characteristics. objective: study of sulf1 gene polymorphism with fetus failure in in vitro fertilization (ivf) technique. materials and methods: we studied one common (minor allele frequency >0.05) regulatory snp, rs6990375, with polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism method, in 53 infertile women with fetus failure in ivf technique and 53 women with at least one healthy child as controls. results: we found that rs6990375 is significantly associated with an early failure in ivf and frequency of g allele is high in women with fetus failure in ivf technique (p<0.001). conclusion: these findings suggest that sulf1 genetic variations may play a role in ivf technique fetus failure. further studies with large sample sizes on sulf1 snps may be useful in support of this claim.

SULF 1 gene polymorphism, rs6990375 is in significant association with fetus failure in IVF technique

BACKGROUND Sulfatase 1 (SULF1) function is to remove the 6-O-sulphate group from heparan sulfate. This action changes the binding sites of extracellular growth factors. SULF1 expression has been reported to be changed in angiogenesis. We hypothesized that single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of SULF1 would impact clinicopathologic characteristics. OBJECTIVE Study of SULF1 gene polymorphism ...

the study of aaag repeat polymorphism in promoter of errg gene and its association with the risk of breast cancer in isfahan region

Association of the Polymorphism Kiss1 Gene Exon 1 with Twin Traits in Sanjabi, Ghezel Breed Sheep by PCR–SSCP Technique

The Kiss1 gene is one of the known affective gene in fertility, which affects ovulation and multiplication. In this study, Blood samples were collected from 100 sheep of Sanjabi in Mehregan breeding station in Kermanshah province and 50 sheep Ghezel breeding station of Urmia University. After DNA extraction, the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used for specific primers amplification of 331 ...

Association of estrogen receptor 1 rs9340799 polymorphism with implantation failure in Iranian infertile women

Purpose: Estrogen as a crucial hormone during pregnancy acts by two types of receptors.   Estrogen receptor alpha, expressed by estrogen receptor 1 (ESR1) gene, is more abundant and   exists in all human reproductive systems. Association of ESR1 gene polymorphism has been   shown in some reproductive fields such as spontaneous abortion, endometriosis-related infertility   and in vitro fertili...

Association between MTHFR 1298A>C Polymorphism with RSA and IVF Failure

Abstract Background Polymorphism A1298C of the methylenetetrahydrofolate-reductase (MTHFR) gene has been implicated in spontaneous abortion. In this study, we determined the allele and genotype frequencies of this polymorphism in recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) and implantation failure after in vitro fertilization (IVF). Materials and Methods We performed a case–control study on 60 wom...

Association of IFN-¹ Gene Polymorphism with Type 1 Diabetes in Iranian Patients

Background: Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is a chronic and progressive autoimmune disorder. Cytokines play a critical role in the pathogenesis of T1D.   Objective: IFN-¹ polymorphism was investigated in T1D and compared with normal controls.   Methods: Thirty patients suffering from T1D and 40 normal controls were studied simultaneously using PCR technique. IFN-   ¹ gene was evaluated at position 5’UTR...
